Kieran “Vicious” Farrell BEM was born 27th June 1990, a former unbeaten professional lightweight boxer trained by Bobby Rimmer and John Breen. Managed by David Coldwell and promoted by former WBU world champion Ricky Hatton, he very quickly became Central Area Champion and built a 14 unbeaten pro record.
He boxed former WBA lightweight Champion Anthony Crolla for the English Title at aged 22 in what many believed to be the fight of the year, suffering his first loss. Sadly Kieran collapsed in the ring with his family and fans watching on from the crowd, he was rushed to hospital, suffering from a bleed on the brain and had emergency surgery. His promising boxing career was cut short aged 22 and he was no longer able to box.
With true grit and fighting spirit he looked to re-build his life, secured a lease on an empty garage in Heywood, Lancashire and formed The Peoples Gym; a Non Profit organisation open to both local Amateur and Professional Boxers. In 2016 he was awarded the British Empire Medal by the Queen in the New Years Honours List for services to his local community and boxing.
Since his career ending injury he continues to build his reputation in the boxing world winning many awards. He is now one of the youngest and a fully licensed Trainer, Matchmaker, Manager and Promoter working with some of the leading promoters in the World such as Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, Frank Warren of Queensbury Promotions and Ricky Hatton.
He has a growing camp of promising boxers that includes Commonwealth Title Challenger Amy Timlin and former British Champion and World Title Challenger Brian Rose. The next phase for his growing boxing business is the formation of Vicious Promotions with plans to showcase local fighters and expansion throughout the UK, Europe and the USA. He’s also no mean Darts player, being the current Champion of the Matchroom Bubble Darts Championship.
