When it comes to small hall boxing, particularly in the north west of England, Kieran Farrell is one of the most zealous & enthusiastic promoters, trainers & managers. With a keen eye on thinking out of the box Farrell’s mind is constantly ticking over with ideas for something different, something bigger, better.
This June, Kieran will be doing just that as he takes 3 of his blossoming & exciting stable on the road as Vicious Promotions heads to Spain! The undefeated trio of Connor Lynch, Gerome Warburton & Sion Yaxley will be heading out to resume their fledgling boxing careers, looking to put 18 months of disruption & inactivity of a pandemic enforced lockdown firmly behind them.
Speaking on the obstacles & hardships he’s faced over the past 12 months Farrell said ‘’Hard work pays off & I used the time during the pandemic to level up rather than sit moaning about what we can’t do, I got up and made what I can do happen!’’
‘’I’m really looking forward to it’’ – Middleton born Connor Lynch (6-0). Lynch has been out of the ring since March 2020 & at 23 years of age he’s keen to get back to business starting with this contest in June ‘’It’s been too long since my last fight, it’s been just over a year, I’ve got a good test, I’m fighting a tough Mexican, so I’m going to make sure I’m more than ready to bring the win home’’
‘’I’ve boxed on numerous Kieran’s shows before signing with him, I know what he can offer to me as a fighter and I know he has his fighters best interest at heart‘’ – Welshman Sion Yaxley (6-0). A recent addition to the Vicious Promotions stable & he is fully confident of a successful relationship with new promoter Kieran Farrell. The undefeated super welterweight has some high quality sparring experience with the likes of Amir Khan, Anthony Fowler & Marcus Morrison to name but a few, the most recent of his 6 pro victories came in March 2020. ‘’I’m extremely excited to get back in the ring and showcase my skills and putting on a good performance once again after a long lay off’’.
Like his countryman Yaxley, Gerome Warburton (6-0) is another new acquisition of the recently rebranded Vicious Promotions, the most recent of his six career victories too came back in 2020 but one only has to glance at his social media channels to see ‘The Breadmaker’ has kept himself in optimum shape ‘‘I’ve always kept in shape but having the fight date definitely give me the urge to train harder’’ purred an excited Warburton. On the link up with Vicious Promotions he added ‘’ I’ve already had 5 fights promoted by Kieran, I know what he can do (for my career). I believe in him & he’s delivered’.
Despite the impact of Covid-19, Kieran Farrell has strived to provide opportunities for his stable including his most high profile procurement Brian Rose, who made a winning return to the ring after a 19 month hiatus, out in Barcelona. ‘’I can’t wait to do my first show on Spanish soil, we went out with Brian Rose for his fight vs former Spanish champion Jose Calvero and Ricky Pow introduced me to Reuben and Juan Karlos who are the promoters I’m working alongside to bring big time boxing to Spain!’’
Make sure you’re following Vicious Promotions across also social media for the latest updates & announcements regarding the June show & future plans!!
